The Writing Group

Today I had a great day.  Contributing to it ws that I went to the inaugural meeting for a writing group.  It was held in the Palmerston North library.  We did a brief introduction and explored an excert from “Passage to India” and could use it as a source.  I wrote a short passage and a swift, short poem based on one sentence in it.

It was such a welcoming group and space that I was able to read my poem out loud.  I enjoyed the discussions about the source piece and the other worked shared.  The leader Christian, was a really good guide, assisting the smooth and effective running of the group.

I love writing on my blog and the various projects I have in various stages.  This was different and offered a sense of community.  I really enjoyed the whole event and look forward to next month.

I was 46 years old when I begun this blog, female and married with a house full of cats (7). My past is littered with the impact of events that happened when I was a teen. Two loves of my life have been nursing and studying. I just completed my Master of Arts: Media Studies endorsement. My blog will be about the things I think about, that might be better served being written rather than squirreled away in my mind festering. It is the meanderings of my mind as I seek to define myself and my world.

What do you think?
