Nice Try!!

Flash fiction for aspiring writers source

Thanks to Uday, with the blog, Udayology for the great photo prompt.

Calling it “Creation Studio” and putting “Photo Centre” over the doors does not update this tired old theatre.  What is potentially worse is that the area is not quite gentrified enough to attract University money, if that was the target.

A coat of paint might make the outside look more acceptable to today’s students but the moment they see how few power points there are inside even that won’t stop the exodus to the door.  That is, of course, if they survived the walk to the centre.   This neighbourhood has a blooming crime statistic.

I did wonder at the original purpose of the theatre, might it have been a Chinese restaurant prior to this?  I question this because of the random odour that wafts from the tired wallpaper that is peeling lackadaisically from the ceiling to the floor.

I feel saddened to review this structure in this way but it had to be done.  It was too soon to push this old lady into the limelight as a functioning Media studio, it simply is not.

Author:

I was 46 years old when I begun this blog, female and married with a house full of cats (7). My past is littered with the impact of events that happened when I was a teen. Two loves of my life have been nursing and studying. I just completed my Master of Arts: Media Studies endorsement. My blog will be about the things I think about, that might be better served being written rather than squirreled away in my mind festering. It is the meanderings of my mind as I seek to define myself and my world.
