What was the last thing that gave you a real, authentic, tearful, hearty belly laugh? Why was it so funny?
I was watching the movie Couples Retreat and some parts of it cracked me up. It’s a fun movie where a lot of people could place themselves in any or all of the roles of the individuals in each couple.
There are so many places where the one liners are just brilliant. Some of the humour is simply bawdy but its cleverly timed. I especially loved the yoga scenes and Salvatore. Often doing yoga I wonder how I am getting into those positions and then more importantly how the hell I am going to get out of them.
The counselling scenes are also hilarious. A mix of reality and clever script writing. The actors handle the script with aplomb and they are just funny too!
This conversation between father and daughter was hilarious. They really were very short shorts! Which probably doubled their price through the economy of more dollars for less fabric economy. I can hear my dad saying this or similar to some of the items that I wore.
Joey: What are… What are you wearing?
Joey: Shorts? That’s… That’s a Maxi Pad.
Lacey: Dad, they’re designer shorts. They’re French. Goodbye.
