R20: No Going Back

No Going Back by Lyndon Stacey

No Going Back (Daniel Whelan, #1)

I read this as an eBook that I got to choose for free from Kobo Books.  I originally picked it because it sounded interesting.  It is essentially a story about an ex cop dog handler and his dog trying to rebuild his life after the force.  It was a gentle read despite some hard hitting content featuring child prostitution.  I read it in one sitting because it just kept pulling me along to the end.  It is the first book in the Daniel Whelan series and I will be hunting down further ones as well.  There is nothing dramatic about the book but the well written plot is simply enjoyable.  Relationships and the individuals within them are explored but without a heavy overwhelming detail. Whelan is a believable lead characters, as are the supporting cast.  Giving this the keep it and reap it ratings.

I was 46 years old when I begun this blog, female and married with a house full of cats (7). My past is littered with the impact of events that happened when I was a teen. Two loves of my life have been nursing and studying. I just completed my Master of Arts: Media Studies endorsement. My blog will be about the things I think about, that might be better served being written rather than squirreled away in my mind festering. It is the meanderings of my mind as I seek to define myself and my world.
