R14: Blue Heaven

Blue Heaven by C J Box

I could not resist a stand alone novel by Box.  I read it as an eBook but will seek to reap it for my hard copy collection.  Blue Heaven shares a similarity in setting to the Pickett stories. Set in a small town and sharing ranch life through the major plot device of two children being hunted after they witness a murder.

The title is quite clever.  A play on the involvement of police (boys in blue) and the spirituality included in the wind up of the story, which was simply charming.  Slightly different plot schematic with different characters sharing what was happening under chapter headings of the time of occurrence and grouped under the day of the week.

It is a fast paced story which is what I have come to expect from Box.  I enjoy how the background details adds rich context to the main story.  An easy keep it.

I was 46 years old when I begun this blog, female and married with a house full of cats (7). My past is littered with the impact of events that happened when I was a teen. Two loves of my life have been nursing and studying. I just completed my Master of Arts: Media Studies endorsement. My blog will be about the things I think about, that might be better served being written rather than squirreled away in my mind festering. It is the meanderings of my mind as I seek to define myself and my world.
