Earworm: Write whatever you normally write about, and weave in a book quote, film quote, or song lyric that’s been sticking with you this week.
This prompt completely stumped me. I had nothing come to mind. It has been the kind of week where all that stuck out was the banality of it. I did read some good books, watched some great tv and saw some movies I had saved but they all blended in together and nothing stuck with or to me.
So, undeterred I looked up quotes for “nothing” and found this gem:
“Nothing, Everything, Anything, Something: If you have nothing, then you have everything, because you have the freedom to do anything, without the fear of losing something.”
― Jarod Kintz
I just think it is perfect for a number of reasons. The first being that I love how he uses those four words so succinctly and opens up an infinity of opportunities. I enjoy the simplicity of the value investing in having nothing which leads to the freedom to do anything.
This is a perfect idea for where I am in my life at the moment. It feels like I am at the bottom of my barrel for my mental and physical health. But that this frees me up to fill that barrel up again with whatever I want. It is a more optimistic view than I normally hold about the journey ahead of me.
