Loves death

The saddest relationship I ever knew
Was not ever between me and you
We broke up and you loved again
A woman with whom I used to train

I did not attend your wedding
It was not quite the done thing
On the first night as Mr and Mrs
Gas leaked in silent lethal hisses

Your married life but a day
A struggle to know what to say
Your funeral way too soon
Our goodbyes a tragic tune

Rest well where you are
Together be it near or far
We always remember you
And your love that was true

NOTE
Based on a true and tragic story.  Two friends just married that died on their honeymoon.  Gone but never forgotten.
